Bombogenesis strikes Boston.

January 4, 2018

A Nor’easter “bomb cyclone” followed by a sudden drop in air pressure drops a foot of snow in Boston. It also produces the highest high tide peak in Boston history, 15.16 feet above the high tide mark, breaking the previous record of 15.1 feet set during the Blizzard of ’78. The storm surge causes flooding of streets along the waterfront and in the Fort Point Channel area.
